<p>Nonhuman animal embryonic stem cells wherein a lecithin:cholesterol acyltransferase-like lysophospholipase endogenous gene has been inactivated; a nonhuman animal with the LLPL gene hypoexpression; a method of screening preventives and/or remedies by using the same; preventives and/or remedies obtained by the screening, etc. The above nonhuman animal ES cells with the inactivated LLPL gene are highly useful in constructing the nonhuman animal with the LLPL gene hypoexpression. Because of lacking various biological activities induced by LLPL, the above nonhuman animal with LLPL gene hypoexpression is usable as a model of diseases caused by the hypofunction in LLPL biological activities. Thus, the above animal is useful in screening preventives and/or remedies for various diseases caused by lack of LLPL, clarifying causes for LLPL-associated diseases and examining therapeutic methods therefor. Using the above-described screening method, preventives and/or remedies for various diseases caused by lack of LLPL can be efficiently screened.</p> |
