A medical device vibratory activation system (100, 300, 400, 500, 700) is disclosed. The system includes an implantable appliance (105, 305, 406, 505, 705, 710, 715) comprising a conductive material, and a signal producing mechanism (120, 320, 420, 520, 720) having a portion configured to be located relative to the implantable appliance. The signal-producing mechanism is also configured to generate a signal that interacts with the conductive material in the implantable appliance to induce a motion of the implantable appliance.
