A resilient metal clip 12 for connecting two members, e.g. wood panels 50, 52, comprises end flanges 16, 14 screwed to the bottom of a recess 54 in panel 52, a raised central portion 30 connected to the flanges 16, 14 through a wall 22 and spaced legs 24, 26, and a slot (28), Fig. 1 (not shown), in portion 30 closed at one end and communicating with the space between the legs 24, 26 at the other end. Wedging surfaces 38, 40 on opposite sides of the slot slope downwardly towards the slot closed end and a locating flange 44 extends upwardly either from a wall 32 adjoining flange 14 or from the flange 14 itself. A shoulder stud 60 is screwed to panel 50 and its head 62 inserted in the open enlarged end of slot (28) beneath the surfaces 38, 40. By relative movement between the clip 12 and screw 60, the screw 60 is moved to the closed (left) end of the slot, surfaces 38, 40 drawing the screw 60 downwardly and thereby pulling the panels 50, 52 together. The screw 60 forces flange 44 downwardly till the head reaches the slot end. The flange 44 then returns to its normal position to lock screw 60 in the slot. The clip may be used to connect a metal shelf (70), Figs. 9-11 (not shown), to a metal side wall (86), the clip being screwed or welded to the shelf. The locking flange 44 may be omitted. The side wall (86) may have a vertical slot in which the shoulder stud (60<SP>1</SP>) is slideably adjustable; side wall (86) may be replaced by vertical rails.
