<p>This publication has described a method for the handling and transferring of structured data, such as data presentable in a table format, in a network. According to the method, structured data is presented by using a data structure (15), which is comprised of a data control information block (16) and the actual data block (17) in a format that is transferable in a network. According to the invention, by using a control information block (16) the actual data is placed to the data block (15) in such a way that the control information (16) defines the location of the variable sized fields or cells of the structured data (15) in the indexed data block (17) of the data structure, so that the data structure allocates only that amount of space that the information content requires when the data is handled in RAM, and, correspondingly, during data transfer data is transferred only the amount of the information content.</p> |
