摘要

A method for easily and sucurely obtaining alumina-silica-based fiber having an excellent mechanical strength. A precursor fiber is obtained from alumina-silica-based fiber forming concentrate solution for inorganic salt method as a material. Next, the precursor fiber is placed in an environment where oxidization of carbon component contained in the precursor fiber cannot proceed easily and the precursor fiber is heated. Thus, the precursor fiber is sintered and alumina-silica-based fiber is obtained.
