FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in gaseous or liquid fuel supply systems of internal combustion engines. According to method of fuel metering in internal combustion engine furnished with at least one impulse electromagnetic meter, signal is generated which determines duration of opening of electromagnetic meter, and signal is generated which determines change of fuel pressure at meter inlet, signal determining duration of meter opening is synchronized with engine operating cycle and required value of cyclic fuel delivery is found. Duration of opening of meter for definite type of fuel is determined, and signal is generated to provide constant duration opening of meter at all operating duties of engine. At change of engine load cyclic delivery of fuel is changed by forming a signal changing pressure of fuel at meter inlet. For this purpose signal determining fuel pressure at meter inlet is compared with signal determining value of cyclic delivery of fuel for engine load.
