PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a friction disk from a fiber reinforced ceramic composite material without reducing load absorption capacity, and to particularly manufacture a C/SiC brake disk. SOLUTION: This friction disk is provided with a columnar region A connected to an axle, and an annular region B connected to the surface of a support disk. The annular region B has a recess opened and/or closed to the outer periphery and/or the center, at the anti-support disk face. The support disk A is made of fiber reinforced ceramic, and the ceramic is formed of a single product in the base state before becoming ceramic. The material of the annular region B is fiber reinforced ceramic, and the ceramic material of the annular region B and the base material of the fiber reinforced ceramic of the support disk A are selected from silicon, a silicon carbide, a silicon nitride, carbon, a boron nitride, a boron carbide, Si/B/N/C and these mixture independently of each other. The friction disk is used for a braking device or a clutch device of a vehicle. |
