PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving picture display device and a method for correcting a pixel value of a moving picture, that can simply generate expanded moving picture data whose pixel value is corrected at a high-speed from compressed moving picture data subjected to DCT processing. SOLUTION: The moving picture display device 1 for displaying the moving picture comprising compressed moving picture data subjected to DCT processing by correcting the number of pixels of the picture is provided with a DC component revision means 2411 that revises only a DC component value as to a prescribed block of the compressed moving picture data, an inverse DCT section 2412 that applies inverse DCT processing to the data to obtain expanded moving picture data and a display data generating means 242 that generates display data from the expanded moving picture data.
