PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air breather structure for a rack and pinion-type steering device capable of reducing the cost by manufacturing by simple machining without forming a hole and a groove by cutting. SOLUTION: An inner socket 60 is manufactured by integrally forming a screw part 62 and a socket body 64 by cold casting. The screw part is engaged in a tapped hole of a rack shaft 6. The screw part is provided with a shaft hole 68 for the air breather from its end face to an inner peripheral face 64a of the socket body. The socket body 64 is provided with the inner peripheral face wrapping a spherical part B connected to a tie rod 10. The inner peripheral face of the socket body is provided with one groove 70 for the air breather, connected to the shaft hole for the air breather, and reaching an opening part 64b of the socket body. |
