PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a security system which can be operated when an abnormal situation occurs, in which the installation construction of a private line is not required and whose degree of freedom of installation is high. SOLUTION: A transmission device 100 is provided with an information adopting part 101 adopting monitoring information, an abnormality detecting part 104 detecting abnormality, a control part 102 controlling respective parts based on a detected result and transmitting the operation command of a reception device 200, a data converting part 103 converting monitoring information and an instruction command into digital data and compressing it and a power line MODEM part 105 converting compression data into communication data and overlapping it with a power line 1. The reception device is provided with a power line MODEM part 204 extracting communication data from the transmission device and converting it into compression data, a data converting part 203 defrosting compression data and converting it into monitoring information and the instruction command, a control part 202 controlling the respective parts based on monitoring information and the instruction command and transmitting the operation command of the transmission device and a display part 201 displaying monitoring information and the like.
