CATALYST FOR OLEFIN POLYMERIZATION AND METHOD FOR POLYOLEFIN PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a catalyst for olefin polymerization, capable of producing an excellent powdered polyolefin even at a high polymerization temperature or a low melting point of the polymer, and to provide a method for polyolefin production using the catalyst. SOLUTION: This catalyst for olefin polymerization satisfies the following characteristic. (a) The catalyst is prepolymerized by a metallocene catalyst supported on a particulate carrier into contact with a polymerizable monomer, (b) An average crushing strength of particulate carrier is >=3 MPa measured by a compression tester and (c) A prepolymerization homogenization index (H-value) obtained from fluorescent observation results of each of catalyst particles before prepolymerization and after the prepolymerization is at most 60%.
