PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 1,3-bis-(dimethylbenzylammonium) isopropyl acrylate chloride, its mixture with other monomers and a corresponding (co)polymer of the compound. SOLUTION: The compound of formula I or its mixture with one or more monomers expressed by formula II (R is CH3 or CH2 C6 H5 ) is produced by dissolving the compound of formula III in a solvent selected from the compound of formula I, the compound of formula II and their mixture, introducing benzyl chloride as a quaternarizing agent into the solution at 35-60 deg.C, adding water to the system, continuing the reaction until the compound of formula III is completely or almost completely converted, separating the aqueous solution of the objective compound of formula I (in the case of using the compound of formula II as the solvent, separating at least together with the compound of formula II as necessary) and optionally removing water from the product.
