COPOLYMERIZATION CATALYST, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING CYCLIC OLEFIN COPOLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrialy and highly active catalytic system easily obtained for copolymerization between an α-olefin and a cyclic olefin, and to provide a method for producing the copolymer by the use of the catalytic system. SOLUTION: This catalytic system for the copolymerization between a 2-20C α-olefin and a specific cyclic olefin is composed of (A) a specific transition metal complex having a cyclopentadienyl skeleton and (B) at least one activator selected from alkylaluminumoxy compound and organoboron compound. The alternative method for producing a copolymer by the use of the catalytic system is provided.
