PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for effectively preventing the squealing phenomenon of a brake by making use of existing parts. SOLUTION: The set load of a shoe set spring (a U-type plate spring) 54 is enlarged instead of a weight heretofore applied to a brake shoe 14. The shoe set spring 54 itself is a part indispensable to this drum brake 10. To enlarge the set load, a plurality of grooves are formed to fit a pin member 54, and the pin member 54 can be shifted from one groove 528 to the other groove 5282.
