PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stranding a multi-ply stranded wire by which normal parallel stranding can be carried out with an excellent operating efficiency. SOLUTION: The outside diameter of a takeout drum 28 of a takeoff machine during first stranding is increased by the double of the wire diameter of a secondly stranded wire 4 or the outside diameter of the takeout drum 28 of the takeoff machine during the second stranding is reduced by the double of the wire diameter of the secondly stranded wire 4 when the parallel stranding is carried out by multi-ply stranding.
