PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise generated by a stepping motor in a image reader. SOLUTION: Exposure measurement is performed (step 101) and the charge storage time of a line sensor in prescanning is determined. On the basis of this charge storage time, a drive current IM to be supplied to a film moving motor is determined by the equation IM=-K×(charge storage time at prescanning) + IC. Command data, corresponding to the driving current IM, are found and outputted to a D/A converter (step 103). Namely, the drive current IM of the film moving motor in prescanning is linearly reduced with the extension of the charge storage time. Prescanning is performed (step 104), and an image is prepared on the basis of image data detected by the line sensor, and is displayed on the screen of the display device of a computer (step 105). |
