PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-forming coloring composition which has a good hue and can form images having high fastness under various use conditions and environmental conditions, an inkjet recording ink and an inkjet recording method, a heat-sensitive recording material, a color toner, and a color filter. SOLUTION: The image-forming coloring composition comprises an azo dye having an aromatic nitrogen-containing 6-membered heterocycle as the coupling component and the inkjet recording ink and the inkjet recording method use this composition. The heat-sensitive recording material, the color toner, and the color filter are formed of this composition.
