PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor controller that always controls the drive of a motor so as to minimize the power, in a state where the stable rotation of the motor is maintained, without causing the motor and the controller to vibrate due to abrupt fluctuation of torques, when the rotating conditions of the motor are changed. SOLUTION: The phase difference between the terminal voltage and terminal current of a polyphase motor 1 is detected by means of a phase difference detecting section 11. A power minimizing section 18 decides a target phase difference value, which brings the electric power nearer to the minimum value, based on the electric power used for driving the motor 1. In addition, a phase difference control section 10 generates a control signal, which controls the driving of the motor 1 by means of an inverter section 2 by feeding back so as to bring the phase difference detected by means of the phase difference detecting section 11 nearer to the target phase difference value. The inverter section 2 drives the motor 1, based on the control signal. |
