PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic aperture radar device capable of reproducing an mage without degrading resolution even in turning by allowing the changeover of an antenna control method according to the motion of a moving platform. SOLUTION: This synthetic aperture radar device is provided with a transmitting and receiving antenna mounted on the moving platform; a motion sensor for measuring the moving direction of the moving platform; an antenna fixing control means for fixing the transmitting and receiving antenna in a specific direction to the moving platform; antenna stabilizing control means for controlling the transmitting and receiving antenna to point to specific azimuth regardless of the motion of the moving platform; a control method changeover means for changing over to move only one control means out of the antenna control means; a control method changeover determining means for determining the changeover of the control method on the basis of an angle defined by the pulse irradiation direction and the moving direction of the moving platform; and an image reproducing processing means for reproducing the image by processing the echo signal amplified by the wide band transmitting and receiving part.
