PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a slab having such superior surface properties as to be able to prevent cracking of the surface of the slab, and omit the surface- repairing operation of the slab, when manufacturing a continuously cast slab of Ni-containing steel. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the continuously cast slab of Ni-containing steel which includes 0.5-50 mass% Ni, comprises adjusting S concentration to 0.001 mass% or less and N concentration to 0.003 mass% or less, and adding Ca and Ti so that the total Ca concentration can be in the range of 1.25×S concentration to 2.5×S concentration, and that Ti concentration is in the range of 3.4×N concentration to 6.3×N concentration, in a smelting process of molten steel, and correcting the slab while controlling the surface temperature of the slab within 850-950 deg.C in the continuous casting process. At this time, P of 0.03 mass% or less, or B of 0.0005-0.002 mass% is preferably added.
