PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel that can secure a prescribed quantity of water flow (a planned water quantity) in spite of using general-purpose blocks causing no increase in cost, and moreover can maintain an ecosystem and make effective use of land. SOLUTION: This ecosystem conservation overhang channel comprises a U-shaped block 1 of one bank; an L-shaped block 2 of the other bank; a partition block 3 provided near the bottom slab tip of the L-shaped block, and a bottom slab block or a cast-in-place concrete layer 4 provided between the partition block and the U-shaped block of the other bank. The top part of the partition block is below the water surface in the planned flow quantity, and the bottom part of an ecosystem maintenance region 7 formed between the L-shaped block and the partition block is in a lower position than the maximum bed slab height. A habitation environment maintenance member is then filled in the ecosystem conservation region 7.
