PURPOSE: An apparatus and method is provided to achieve improved productivity and workability by automating procedures for testing bolt coupling, while obtaining product with improved performance. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for testing bolt coupling, comprises an ultrasonic oscillation unit(30) for emitting ultrasonic wave to the bolt coupled portion; and a thermal sensing unit(40) for determining whether a bolt(50) is coupled or not, by detecting the heat which is generated from the bolt coupled portion by the ultrasonic wave emitted from the ultrasonic oscillation unit. The thermal sensing unit includes a camera(41) for detecting heat, and a comparison and determination section(42) for determining whether the bolt is completely coupled or not, through the comparison between the preset value and the heat area detected by the camera.
