摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic brake cooling structure for a variable phase device for cooling a relative sliding surface between a friction material and a rotary drum of an electromagnetic clutch. SOLUTION: In this variable phase device, the rotary drum 44 is supported on a cam shaft 2, an electromagnetic braking means 40 for applying braking force to a disc surface of the rotary drum 44 is provided, and the phase is changed by linking with rotation delay due to braking force. In the electromagnetic brake cooling structure for leading engine oil to the relative sliding surface of the friction material and the rotary drum 44 via an electromagnetic coil 42 stored in a clutch case 60, a friction material holding plate 62 for closing an opening side of the clutch case 60, and a cutout adhered to the friction material holding plate 62 and provided at a front edge part of an inner peripheral wall of the clutch case 60, a cutout 61b for deriving oil is provided at a front edge part of an outer peripheral wall 60b of the clutch case 60 to enhance a cooling effect of a sliding surface of the friction material by activating circulation of oil for cooling.</p>
