摘要	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical branching device and optical coupling device of a small size and low cost. SOLUTION: In this optical branching device, the light signal outputted by the light emission of a laser diode(LD) 53 disposed in an electro-optic conversion circuit 511 of an electric signal section 51 is made incident on a sheet-like light transmission path 50 and is broadcast therein. As a result, the light signal is branched and transmitted respectively to photodiodes(PD) 54a, 54b and 54c disposed at photo-electric conversion circuits 521, 522 and 523. A switch control section 55 controls the opening and closing of electric switches 524, 525 and 526 disposed behind the photo-electric conversion circuits 521, 522 and 523. As a result, the selection of the signals received by the photo-electric conversion circuits 521, 522 and 523 is made possible at need.
