PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide plate device which is easy to handle and also is suitable for mechanical operation in an automatic inspecting device. SOLUTION: The slide plate device for holding a test sample to be optically inspected is provided with a transparent planar supporting section 10 for supporting the test sample on its surface and a cover section 20 made of a transparent sheet material having flexibility. The cover section 20 is arranged by being superposed on a surface of the supporting section 10 while covering the test sample, a joint 30 for joining the cover section 20 to the supporting section 10 is disposed at one end side of the cover section 20 and an overhanging section 22 overhanging outside from an end edge of the supporting section 10 is disposed at another end side of the cover section 20 opposed to the joint 30.
