PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce overcompressing work in a compressor by using a reflected wave of a pressure wave generated by a compressed fluid discharged from a discharge opening in order to open a discharge valve at the discharge opening itself. SOLUTION: Discharge paths 50 have a pressure-relieved outlet end 50a. Timing Te of propagation of a reflected wave of a discharged compressional wave to the discharge valve 23 is measured in advance about every compressor operating condition and every specific element of the compressor 10. From an accumulation of such measurement results, a relational expression about the compressor operating condition and the specific element of the compressor 10, and the propagation timing Te is derived. According to the relational expression, a discharge path length Lrfit from the discharge opening 22 to the pressure- relieved discharge path outlet end 50a is determined so that the reflected wave reduces a valve opening pressure at a compressed fluid discharge. The discharge paths 50 partly comprise piping 47.
