PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that sufficient equalization can not be performed, if a signal of large electric power is present outside of the equalization range of an adaptive equalizer. SOLUTION: A received signal and a synchronous word signal are correlated with each other, and a window signal, having the same time width as the equalization range of the adaptive equalizer, is generated and shifted sequentially in time into #1, #2, #3, #3, etc., (Fig. 2B); and the sum of electric power of the correlation output signal (Fig. 2A) in each window signal is found, and the increase in the window signal which has the largest electric power sum is regarded as the symbol synchronization timing. |
