PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide reduction gear and a geared motor of radially and axially compact structures capable of inserting a driven shaft of a mating machine into an axial center part of an output shaft. SOLUTION: This geared motor 1 is constituted of a motor 2 and the reduction gear 3 for reducing the output rotation and outputting the rotation. Both of a motor shaft 4 and an output shaft 5 of the reduction gear 3 are hollow shafts and are arranged on the same line. The driven shaft 50 of the mating machine is directly inserted into a hollow part 22 of the output shaft 5 of the reduction gear 3, and the driven shaft 50 and the output shaft, 5 are coupled within the hollow part 22 via a key groove 36 and a key 36a as power transmission mechanism means.
