PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device which lightens the load of processing on a CPU. SOLUTION: A color camera module converts image pickup data (YUV422 data) into monochromatic data (T3) each time one frame ends (T2) and transfers them to a display driver (T4). A control part, on the other hand, transfers the image pickup data to a RAM (S7) in the output timing of one frame when a shutter key is operated (S6; YES). Then a luminance component is extracted from the image pickup data transferred to the RAM to generate display data (monochromatic 16-gradation data) (S8). Further, the image pickup data are processed by JPEG compression to generate color image data in QCIF-JPEG format (S9). The data are stored (S10) as saved data (QCIF-JPEG data) in an image saving memory together with the image pickup data (YUV422 data) and display data (monochromatic 16-gradation data) so that they correspond to one another. |
