PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which is capable of preventing the occurrence of toner fusion and filming in the formation of full-color images using amorphous photoreceptors and is capable of forming the high-quality images which exhibit sufficient image densities and have excellent color reproducibility even in a low-potential development system, an image forming method and a developer. SOLUTION: The full color images are formed by an image forming process of a tandem system using the drum-like a-Si photoreceptors of 20 to 80 mm in diameter which are electrostatically charged to 300 to 450 V in the absolute value of the surface potential, developing sleeves which rotate at a circumferential speed of 1.05 to 2.0 times the circumferential speed of the photosensitive drums in the case of contact development with the photosensitive drums and at a circumferential speed of 1.1 to 4.0 times the circumferential speed of the photosensitive drums in the case of contactless development and one-component type developers which contain binder resins and coloring agents and contain negative chargeable nonmagnetic toners of 4.0 to 10.0 μm in weight average grain size, 1.0 to 1.8 in coloring power and 0 to 0.5 in the difference between the maximum value and minimum value of the coloring power of yellow, magenta and cyan.
