PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce components such as the control circuit part, power source, and cable of an interface part, and to reduce the frequency of the generation of failures by performing in-device defective site detection and power source control and defective site detection between devices having a battery boundary without providing any new interface. SOLUTION: The operation monitor, failure detection, power source control, and defective site report of in-device components are performed by eliminating any exclusive logical circuit, power source, and interface for monitoring the operation or failure of device components or circuits, and using a control signal and a register for a fiber channel interface for controlling an HDD mounted inside the device and between devices.
