PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both a method for producing a hardened product and an apparatus for producing the hardened product by which the high-strength hardened product can be produced from a papermaking sludge. SOLUTION: A raw material solution is formed into a sheet 26 by using a drainage material 22A and the resultant formed sheet 26 is then transferred to a transportation belt 23 and then transferred to form a multilayered sheet 26 while being transferred to a making roll 30. The multilayered sheet 26 is further cut to a prescribed size and drained with a pressing machine 50 and the drained multilayered sheet 26 is then dried with a dryer 70 to provide the hardened product. A low pressure is applied to the multilayered sheet 26 with the pressing machine 50 when the pressing is started. Since water is gradually discharged from the multilayered sheet 26 cavities are not formed. The high strength can be obtained by subsequently applying a high pressure.
