PURPOSE: A polymer-nanocomposite using an acid-treated clay and its preparation method are provided, to increase the interlayered distance of the intercalated compound by two times or more compared with the cation exchange method, thereby allowing the melted polymer to be introduced into the layer. CONSTITUTION: The polymer-nanocomposite comprises a clay which has a silanol group by being treated with an acid and has a laminated structure; a compound capable of hydrogen-bonding with the silanol group; and a polymer intercalated between the laminated structure. The method comprises the steps of treating clay with an acid; dispersing the treated clay into a compound capable of hydrogen-bonding with the silanol group or a solution containing the compound to prepare an organic clay; and intercalating a polymer into the organic clay. The intercalation of the polymer is carried out by direct intercalation or melting compounding.
