<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil for an internal combustion engine wherein an insulating sealing resin completely fills the inside of a head section for storing an igniter, but it never leaks outside the head section. SOLUTION: The ignition coil for an internal combustion engine comprises a coil case 11 which includes the head section 13 provided with a main body 13a of the head section for storing a connector section 12, and an igniter 19. The connector section 12 comprises an engagement section 12a with which a wall section 13ah of the main body 13a of the head section is engaged. The engagement section 12a comprises an intermediate wall section 12am which forms a bottom of a recess 12b with which the wall section 13ah is engaged, and a first engagement wall section 12ah1 and a second engagement wall section 12ah2 on the opposite side. These sections 12ah1 and 12ah2 are formed inside the main body 13a of the head section and are so disposed as to hold the intermediate wall section 12am and the wall section 13ah from both sides. The top surfaces of the intermediate wall section 12am and the first engagement wall section 12ah1 are located lower than that of the second engagement wall section 12ah2.</p> |
