PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device capable of easily removing jammed paper even when the paper is jammed at the part of the fixing device, and an image forming device using the fixing device. SOLUTION: In the fixing device, fixation is performed by bringing a pressure member into press-contact with a heating member and making a recording medium on which an unfixed toner image is carried pass through a nip part formed between the heating member and the pressure member. The device is equipped with a supporting member supporting both ends of the pressure member and energized to bring the pressure member into press-contact with the heating member and a plurality of nip pressure releasing members acting on the supporting member from mutually different directions and moving the supporting member in a direction where nip pressure is released.
