METHOD FOR POLYMERIZATION OF VINTL MONOMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for polymerization of an acrylic acid ester- containing vinyl monomer with which a high-quality polymer can be obtained in excellent productivity, while preventing adhesion of a polymer scale on a sealing part of a stirring shaft in polymerization equipment without causing a mechanical damage. SOLUTION: This method for vinyl monomer polymerization comprises polymerizing a vinyl monomer containing >=0.1 mass % of an acrylic acid ester in the polymerization equipment with a stirrer while stirring and the vinyl monomer is polymerized with changing a hindered phenol from the lower part of a sealing unit of the stirring shaft.
