PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video distributing device by which users can save expense in time and effort of selecting their preferred videos and reproducing the selected video. SOLUTION: When the video distributing device 1 successfully authenticates a user, the video distributing device 1 transmits selection menu data including a plurality of category names resulting from categorizing a digest to a mobile terminal 2. The user selects a category desirably considered to view from the selection menu data and transmits the selected category data to the video distributing device 1. The video distributing device 1 compares a user profile with a video profile and transmits a digest of the category desired by the user based on the category data received from the mobile terminal 2 to the mobile terminal 2. The mobile terminal 2 reproduces the received digest, generates user history data including the title of the digest selected by the user and transmits the data to the video distributing device 1. The video distributing device 1 rewrites the user profile based on the user history data and transmits video contents on which the digest selected by the user is based to a home server unit 3.
