PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure an excellent characteristics of an objective lens drive device and miniaturize the device. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a support base 12 made of a magnetic material, which is composed of a base part 14; a supporting shaft 16 and a pair of yokes 15 and 15 which are oppositely positioned beyond the support shaft and on which opposing faces of the yokes respective magnets 17 and 17 are mounted; a focusing coil 24 which is freely supported, so as to be swiveled in the axial direction with respect to the support shaft and freely slidable in the axial direction, while supporting an objective lens 22 and which is fed a driving electric current, when the focusing of a laser beam is performed while a disk type recording medium 102 is irradiated with the laser beam through the objective lens; and a movable part 13 which has at least a pair of tracking coils 25 and 25, to which a drive electric current is supplied, when the tracking adjustment of the laser beam is performed.
