PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To handle contents recording media as rental merchandise in the same manner that the contents recording media are returned directly to its rental shop even though the contents recording media are returned to another shop without returning the contents recording media to the rental shop. SOLUTION: In the case rented contents recording media are returned, the shop terminal 3 where the media are returned accesses a rental management center 1, reads rental information about the contents recording media to discriminate whether or not the rental shop coincides with the shop where the media are returned, and transmits rental contents in the returned contents recording media to the rental management center 1 in the case they do not coincide with each other. Then, a rental store side terminal 3 records the contents transferred through the rental management center 1 in the empty media. The shop terminal 3 side where the media are returned erases the transmitted contents from the contents recording media. |
