PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit image data fetched into a digital copy machine from an unspecified place to an arbitrary transmission destination. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a digital copy machine 1 and a portable telephone 2, which can be carried independently of this digital copy machine 1 and can communicate with the digital copy machine 1 and the other communication equipment. The digital copy machine 1 is provided with an image data generating means for acquiring image data from an original, an image memory 64, an image data processing part for converting the image data into a data form which can be handled by the portable telephone 2; while a main CPU 65 for storing the image data in the image memory 64 and transmitting the image data stored in the image memory 64 to the portable telephone 2. The portable telephone 2 is provided with a memory 132 and a CPU 131 for storing the image data transmitted from the digital copy machine 1 into the memory 132, and transmitting the image data stored in the memory 132 to the other communication equipment on the other hand.
