PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adapter device for enabling calling over the Internet by using a telephone set, without having to use information input equipment or voice input/output equipment. SOLUTION: This adapter device includes a converting circuit for transmitting a received audio signal to the telephone set and transmitting a transmitting audio signal to the computer and a direction circuit for making the received audio signal pass in one direction from the computer to the converting circuit, making the transmitting audio signal pass in one direction from the converting circuit to the computer and blocking passing of the received audio signal in one direction from the conversion circuit to the computer.
