PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To release triboelectric charge between rubbing cloth and an alignment layer, to prevent the uneven distribution of rubbing nap in the rubbing cloth, to suppress alignment defect and to enhance the yield. SOLUTION: A dummy electrode 15 having conductivity is formed on the two sides of a second glass substrate 11, which the rubbing cloth 13 first comes into contact with, when the second substrate 11 having a transparent conductive film 12 formed thereon is subjected to rubbing treatment and the triboelectric charge is released through the dummy electrode 15 to prevent the uneven distribution of the rubbing nap due to the triboelectric charge in the rubbing cloth. |
