Apparatus for treating milling product includes a hous- ing (14) in which a rotor (4) is rotatably mounted. The rotor is provided with a number of pockets (3) which, as the rotor (4) rotates, are brought into register sequen- tially with a milling-product inlet (1) and a steam outlet (11), the steam being separated from the milling product during rotation of the rotor. The pockets (3) have a radially discharging opening (10) which in one position of a pocket between the inlet (1) and the outlet (11) is caused to coincide with an outlet opening (8) provided in the housing and through which the milling product is thrown to a steam-tight discharge device (9). The steam content of the pocket is entrained to the outlet (11) and blown from the housing through this outlet.
