PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compact image recorder in which transfer position is not shifted and precise transfer is ensured. SOLUTION: The image recorder comprises a first transfer unit 3 for transferring the second transfer ink layer 2a of a transfer film 2 to the first transfer layer 1a of a film 1, a second transfer unit 4 for transferring the second transfer ink layer 2a and the first transfer layer 1a to a plastic card 5, and a second reel 9 for winding the film 9 wound around a first reel 6. The first transfer unit 3 comprises a drum 15, a pair of rollers 16 and 17 for securing the film 1, and a thermal head 20 for transferring the second transfer ink layer 2a onto the first transfer layer 1a by pressing the transfer film 2 being fed from a third reel 13 to a fourth reel 14.
