PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer capable of forming a high quality image by suppressing expansion and contraction of a recording medium. SOLUTION: This inkjet printer comprises an endless belt 18 suspended to a conveyance roller 9 and a transporting roller 14, and a recording medium expansion/contraction preventing means formed at a contact portion between the endless belt 18 and a cloth 3. As the concrete recording medium expansion/ contraction preventing means, a projection 19 is used. As the concrete projection 19, it is possible to use needles, metallic powders, ceramic powders or flocked fibers which are adhered to or raised from the belt 18. When the recording medium is of a cloth having an expansion/contraction property, the expansion and contraction of the recording medium is prevented by using the recording medium expansion/contraction preventing means such as the projection 19 in a typical embodiment, thereby forming a high quality image.
