A combination of a metal coiled tubing (12) and a signal transmitting passageway (14) for transmitting and/or receiving signals to well tools (16) positioned in the coiled tubing (12). The signal transmitting passageway (14 ) is positioned in the wall (15) of the coiled tubing (12) and may transmit an d receive hydraulic, electrical or light signals and the signals may be used f or transmitting power signals for actuating well tools, control signals for controlling well tools, and/or data signals for transmitting or receiving information.
