A window comprises a profiled outer frame 1 of a strip of folded sheet metal and one or more inner frames 71, 81 of a strip of folded sheet metal and fixed as by screws 6. at the periphery thereof to the outer frame 1. The frame 1 comprises an outer flange 1a by which it is fixed to the wall-opening surround as by screws, and an inner flange 1b for fixing the two frames together and the web between the flanges is shaped as a gutter 1d which collects condensation and communicates with a drainage duct 26. The outer and inner frames are rectangular with rounded corners and each comprises two parts joined together end to end, the joints of the two frames being respectively in different locations of the window structure. The panes 10, 11 may be fixed or one or both horizontally slidable and are locked to the frame in their closed positions by a bayonet lock and catch mechanism 20, 22, 23 mounted on an arm 18 on the outer frame. |
