PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous coating device of compact type for a metal strip which can heat and cool the metal strip, and coat it uniformly without unevenness even in the case of any disturbance such as a change in atmospheric temperature or the like. SOLUTION: In the continuous coating device being constituted so that the traveling metal strip may be coated with a coating material by an applicator roll, the roll on which the metal strip is wound up and in such a structure that the surface temperature can be controlled is arranged at the upstream position of a coating portion, and heats and cools the metal strip.
