PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an informing seal capable of displaying a water content in the soil in a container as the position of a water level. SOLUTION: This seal for informing the water content is constituted of a base comprising a release paper layer 2 for protection, a transparent adhesive layer 3 and a transparent film layer 4, all constituting a base part of the informing seal 1, a water-reacting layer 5 arranged on the base, and a displaying layer 6 arranged on the water-reacting layer. The seal is constituted so that the pattern of the first displaying position 6a can be observed from the outside only when the water-reacting layer is opaque, and the pattern except the pattern of the first displaying position 6a can be observed from the outside when the water-reacting layer reacts with the water in the soil to make the water-reacting layer transparent. These patterns are constituted so as to reversibly repeat the change between the states of being serially observed and not being serially observed according to the reaction state of the water-reacting layer with the water included in the soil in the container.
