摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce occurrence of chipped glass and shorten time required for chamfering at the time of chamfering both corner portions of an end surface of a glass substrate. SOLUTION: To shafts 3, 4 rotated by motors 1, 2, there are attached first to fifth grinding wheels 5a-5e, 6a-6e. Surface roughness of the first to fifth grinding wheels 5a-5e, 6a-6e roughens by degrees in this order. As a liquid crystal display panel 7 is moved in the direction indicated by an arrow A, both corner portions of an end surface of a glass substrate 8 of the left side of the liquid crystal display panel 7 are sequentially polished by the first to fifth grinding wheels 5a-5e, 6a-6e by a predetermined amount. Thereby, occurrence of chipped glass can be reduced, and time for chamfering can be shortened.
